An Ophthalmic Technician is a versatile employee who provides technical services to patients and assists ophthalmologists or optometrists in the examination and treatment of eye disorders. Takes patient history, conducts visual acuity screenings, and performs various technical procedures including refractometry, tonometry, lensometry and keratometry. Prepares patients for exams and procedures along with patient education per the physicians’ instructions. Triage urgent calls and documenting the patients encounter in our medical records system. Operates, maintains, and sanitizes ophthalmic equipment and instruments.
